Because you say it, it is true
In you heart, your mind but only to you
If its true than its real, and then it will be
Which also makes it true to me
If what I say is not a lie
Then goals won’t settle at the sky
They’ll soar beyond the land of dreams
And Life be more than what it seems
Reciting your story, but writing it too
Though you tell it as if it has happened to you
You create your symphony
Don’t like the song? Change the melody
Fate has the rhythm to give you the blues
So it all depends on the notes you choose
If you long to live in harmony
You must compose your destiny

Feather and Breeze
Dreams are my feather
Love is wind blown
Always chasing
But never alone
Just out of my reach
A sweet gentle tease
But I'll keep dancing
Along with the breeze
The wind must go
For my easy taking
But no win is worth
A heart for breaking
When the weather and I
Find harmony
Forever together
Wind, feather, and me.

Y.O.Y.O

Venture is for the novice
And rest is for the worn
Live it up today
In half your life is torn
With youth comes invitation
To live without compel
With age comes obligation
You'll yearn for tales to tell
Must you delay your life?
You will never truly live
Take lead of the moment
You have not years to give
So seize them, milk, them, suck them dry
And set your brave soul free
If you're only young once and you live it so
Forever young you'll be

Words Jump Out

Words jump out
And capture your soul
You bring to life
The story that's told
Igniting a flame
You throw a stone
Like fire that's wild
And waves that roam
But the seas die down.jpg)
And the trees to ashes
Giving life to new pages
With words and dashes
Journeys begin
Legends live on
Shared then forgotten
But never gone
And capture your soul
You bring to life
The story that's told
Igniting a flame
You throw a stone
Like fire that's wild
And waves that roam
But the seas die down

And the trees to ashes
Giving life to new pages
With words and dashes
Journeys begin
Legends live on
Shared then forgotten
But never gone

A Field of Thoughts

Tiny white dots
In a vast dark sky
"Great? Are they?"
"Great? Are they?"
You wonder why
They do so little
They twinkle, they blink
Great should describe
Much more some think
Much more some think
Well take your time
Don't glance, but gaze
You'll find a field
Of thoughts to graze
Twinkle and blink?
They do much more
Twinkle and blink?
They do much more
They're tiny knobs
To a million doors
To a million doors
You see one fly
One wish for you
But you must be the one
To make it true
The sky is not the limit
The sky is the key
The stars will shine
To unlock your dreams

Your Heart Can No Longer Mourn

The truth lies within your heart
But your heart lies to your head
While your heart is warm and pounding inside
It tells your brain that its dead
And all the while your heart pretends
To search for life again
But it's quite content with the shape it's in
Though, your brain is still misled
And I know why your heart is so sly
When it goes to playing these games
With a broken promise to your head
Your heart is filled with shame
It vowed never to love again
From the fear of it's wounds be torn
Your head just wants to protect your heart
But your heart can no longer mourn
But your heart lies to your head
While your heart is warm and pounding inside
It tells your brain that its dead
And all the while your heart pretends
To search for life again
But it's quite content with the shape it's in
Though, your brain is still misled
And I know why your heart is so sly
When it goes to playing these games
With a broken promise to your head
Your heart is filled with shame
It vowed never to love again
From the fear of it's wounds be torn
Your head just wants to protect your heart
But your heart can no longer mourn
My Story
Hey guys! My name is Katie Jo. So I have this thing that I do. I write poetry. Not very many people have ever read my poetry because I never tell anyone about it. Recently, I started asking myself why. Why don't I ever tell anyone about my poems? My poetry is very real and sacred to me. They are the stories of my soul. I don't want to read just anyone a poem of mine to let it go in one ear, get sloshed around for a bit, and then high-tailed out of the other. They are your stories too! I want to hear them! I want to hear how something deep inside of me, that I have felt, has touched the heart and soul of others. Tell me how you have interpreted my poems and tell me your story. I think it would also be great inspiration for me.
